Baroque mon amour!

E’ iniziato tutto con qualche complemento d’arredo sparso qui e lì, poi le carte da parati usate sempre più spesso per caratterizzare i locali e i negozi più IN e pian piano la tendenza ha preso consistenza. H&M tramite la collezione firmata Anna dello Russo ha oltrepassato il confine tra arredamento e moda e poi gli occhiali da sole firmati Prada, qualche  abito trovato per caso nelle collezioni dei big della moda e poi Dolce&Gabbana ha consacrato definitivamente  il mood per quest’autunno. Lento ma inarrestabile è stato il seme del barocco, che ha attecchito ed ora i tessuti damascati e linee e minimal stanno fiorendo. All started with some piece of furniture scattered here and there, then the wallpapers used to characterize the coolest bars and shops in town and the trend has gradually taken form. H&M has crossed the boundary between furniture and fashion  by the collection designed by Anna dello Russo and then the Prada sunglasses, some clothes found by chance in the collections of big fashion designers and then Dolce & Gabbana have drawn the mood for this fall. Slow but steady was the seed of the Baroque, which has taken his roots and now damask fabrics and the baroque lines are flourishing.

Tessuti pregiati, colori pieni, ornamenti geometrici intrecciati con volute, sovrabbondanza di dettagli che alle volte sembra esser tornato l’Horror Vacui. Tornano i corpetti, gli abiti sagomati, le donne come bambole dall’espressione tragica o assente, il chiaro scuro. Fabrics, rich colors, geometric ornaments intertwined with spirals, overabundance of details that sometimes seems to have returned to the horror vacui. The return of the corsages, the dresses are , women like dolls with a tragic or absent expression, the shadows are dark.

Mi sento un po’ come se fossi alla corte del Re Sole  o in quella dei Borboni, e stessi scegliendo la stoffa per un ricevimento…ma poi mi riprendo e i tessuti al tatto non sono come quelli filati a San Leucio, però il loro effetto lo fanno allo stesso modo. Ed è così che penso di riempirmi l’armadio di stoffe simil preziose, di scarpe dal tacco gioiello, di bracciali oversize e orecchini dettagliatissimi! Mentre guardo, osservo e scelgo cosa prendere e cosa lasciare di tutti questi tesori, mi tornano in mente le statue delle Madonne del ’600 siciliano e mi compare a caratteri cubici dinnanzi agli occhi (quasi come fosse un’apparizione!) la scritta: “IL TROPPO STROPPIA!” e  mi sveglio dal sogno ad occhi aperti! I feel a bit as if I were at the court of Luigi XIV or at Borboni’s court, and I’m choosing a fabric for a reception… but then I recover and feel of fabrics are not like those yarns in San Leucio, but at a first sight the effect is always nice. And so I think to fill my closet of precious fabrics or of  shoes with a jewel heel, bracelets and earrings oversized but highly detailed! As I’m watching, I’m observing and I’m choosing what to take and what to leave all of these treasures, I remind of the Sicilian statues of Madonna and  I see some cubic characters in front of my eyes (almost like an apparition!) that write the words: “too much breaks the bag”and I wake up from the dream with open eyes!

Con un armadio così mi sarei sentita una vera dama…devo riprendermi con dei maccaron vale lo stesso? I would feel a real lady If I had a closet full of these clothes… I have to get over with the maccaron worth the same?
