Street art is coming!

L’immagine di questa bottiglia piena di vernice ci terrà compagnia su questo blog fino alla fine di Maggio per ricordarci che Memorie Urbane, il festival di street art, si sta svolgendo sul litorale pontino. Il festival è alla II edizione e dal 20 Aprile al 30 Maggio porterà Gaeta e Terracina sulla scena internazionale dell’arte urbana. The image of this bottle full of paint will keep us company on this blog until the end of May to remind us that Memorie Urbane, a street art festival, is taking place on the Pontine coast. The festival is on the second edition; Gaeta and Terracina will on the international scene of urban art from 20 April to 30 May.

Il festival, dato il successo dello scorso anno, ospiterà  un parterre di ospiti nazionali ed internazionali. Nomi come Domenico Romeo, Hyuro, Moneyless, Alice Pasquini, DALeast, Faith47, SAM3, Borondo, Lucamaleonte, Malabrocca, Sbagliato, Martina Merlini si avvicenderanno durante la manifestazione, ecco le date: The festival, given the success of last year, will have national and international guests. Names such as Domenico Romeo, Hyuro, Moneyless, Alice Pasquini, DALeast, Faith47, SAM3, Borondo, Lucamaleonte, Malabrocca, Wrong, Martina Merlini will be rotated during the event, here are the dates:

Ma forse i nomi vi dicono poco, le immagini dicono  molto di più,  sono le opere il vero pass di questi artisti. Perhaps these names say little to you, the images speak better than a name, masterpieces are the real pass of these artists.

Il calendario prevede, parallelamente agli interventi degli artisti, anche una serie di appuntamenti per conference con giornalisti e curatori di urban art, un concorso web, workshop, le proiezioni dei film “Exit Through The Gift Shop” di Banksy e “Woman Are Heroes” di JR, concerti ed eventi serali. Un evento a 360 gradi, che punta a coinvolgere il più possibile i cittadini. The calendar provide, in parallel to the artists performances, a series of dates for conference with journalists and urban art editors, a web competition, some workshops, the screenings of the Bansky’s film “Exit Through The Gift Shop” and the JR’s film “Woman Are Heroes”, concerts and evening events. An event to 360 degrees, which aims to involve citizens as possible. La street art è l’arte di tutti, quella di strada; quella bistrattata dai più (ahimè) nella quale ci imbattiamo nel grigiore della quotidianeità. Sono iniziative come questa che sensibilizzano lo spettatore al fenomeno; sono anni che si parla di street art, ma ancora oggi viene confusa con i tag o i writing; sono eventi come questi che vanno a formare la cultura urbana e la critica. Io non voglio mancare! Street art is the art of all; it is mistreated by more people (…sigh…); it’s the art in which we encounter in the greyness of everyday life. These are initiatives that sensitize the viewer, we are talking about street art from years, but it is still confused with the tags or the writtens on the walls, events like these form the urban culture and the metropolitan criticism. I do not want to miss it!

E’ l’arte che trasforma e colora i non-luoghi (vedi Marc Augé), che  fanno da scenario alla nostra esistenza. Un luogo dove è passata la trasformazione della street art è  divenuto una galleria a cielo aperto, così un cavalcavia respira una nuova vita, una favbbrica disessa si colora di emozioni e così via. Il pubblico è vasto e spesso distratto,  la voglia di esporre la propria arte e di comunicare attraverso il paesaggio metropolitano è tanta ed ogni artista trova la propria tecnica, il proprio linguaggio e interagisce con noi attraverso i muri, gli svincoli, i marciapiedi, i bidoni dell’immondizia; tutto diventa un oggetto d’arte. The art transforms and colors no-places (see Marc Augé), which are the backdrop of our lives. A place where the transformation of street art is passed, it has become an open-air gallery, so an overpass breathes a new life, a disused factory is colored by emotions and so on. The audience is vast and often distracted, the desire to expose their art and to communicate through the metropolitan landscape is so great, that every artist after has found his technique, his language and will interact with us through walls, junctions, pavements, garbage cans, everything becomes an object of art.
