Arriva sempre la serata annoiata e pigra, quella in cui te ne stai acciambellata come un gatto sul divano, quella in cui solo un libro e qualche dolcetto ti faranno compagnia! There always comes the bored and lazy evening, the one where you sit like a cat curled up on the sofa,the one in which only a book and some candy will make you company!
Le luci invadenti della casa e il telefono sono spente, ci sono quelle dell’albero che rendono l’ambiente più caldo. Come sottofondo ho messo su iTunes l’album intero degli XX. Lo chiamo album-coccola, le sonorità mi rilassano e mi cullano come fossi stretta in un abbraccio…è proprio la scelta giusta per questa serata! Apro la dispensa e trovo un pacchetto di macarons; non è vero ce li avevo in mente da quando li abbiamo comperati l’altro giorno in centro, il mio pensiero era fisso su quelle prelibatezze! Li afferro e li apro…il libro l’ho già scelto…a questo punto posso solo dire: “Home sweet home!” accoccolandomi sul divano! The overpowering lights of the house and the phone are turned off, there are only the xmas tree lights turned on that makes the room warmer. As soundtrack I put the XX’s album on iTunes. I call it cuddle-album,the sound relax me and lull me as if I were in a tight embrace … it is just the right choice for this evening! I open the pantry and found a package of macarons; it isn’t true I had them in mind since we’ve bought them the other day in the center, my thoughts were fixed on those goodies! I grab them and open the smart box …I’ve already chosen the book… at this point I can only say: “Home sweet home!” while I’m putting on the couch!

Una stanza a ” Villa Cicchi” ci aspettava, un semplice agriturismo pensavamo; dal sito internet il posto prometteva di essere molto curato ed architettonicamente pregevole visto che era stato ricavato da un casale del ’600. Pur di anadare a dormire lì abbiamo spostato la data di partenza! Siamo arrivati col buio e ci è sembrato di entrare in un borgo, un borgo antico, un posto che voleva raccontare una storia; una volta entrati siamo stati catapultati in un luogo quasi magico, investiti dal un calore familiare dei proprietari e della cagnolina che ci è subito venuta incontro! A room in “Villa Cicchi” waiting for us, we thought a simple farmhouse; from the website, the place promised to be very nice and architecturally valuable because it was a house of ’600. To go there to sleep there we moved the departure date! We arrived after dark, and it seemed to go into a village, an ancient village, a place that wanted to tell us a story, and once inside the house we were catapulted into an almost magical place, invested by a familiar warmth of the owners and of the dog soon came to give us the welcome!
Fuori la neve sbrilluccicava sotto i lampioni come se contenesse polvere di diamanti, silenzio e freddo, tanto freddo. Per uscire la sera ho osato… stivali con la zeppa e il mio coraggio è stato premiato visto che ad Ascoli città non vi era la neve! La prima sosta è stata a Piazza del Popolo e al Caffè Meletti, bar storico della città completamente in stile liberty, eravamo entrati per un tè e siamo uscito con uno spritz e un meletti gin… nonostante il freddo abbiamo fatto una passeggiata! La città è graziosa, a misura d’uomo e ben curata; tutti sono stati gentili con noi! The first stop was the Piazza del Popolo and the Meletti Cafes, ansoric bar completely in Art Nouveau style, we entered for a tea and we came out with a spritz and a Meletti&gin …when you say to have clear ideas! Despite the cold we took a walk! The city is charming, humane and well taken care of, all were nice with us!
L’indomani mattina giro dell’agriturismo per bruciare le calorie della colazione! Non era una colazione normale, pannettoni fatti in casa, marmellate esalumi prodotti nell’azienda agricola, dei sapori antichi e genuini che mi hanno ricordato le colazioni e le merende dalla nonna. Ogni ambiente che abbiamo visto è curato nei minimi dettagli, dalle suite con gli affreschi al salone per le feste, la contina, tutto è curatissimo nel particolare e il servizio impeccabile! The next morning tour of the farm to burn calories of our breakfast! It wasn’t a normal breakfast, cakes homemade, jams and cold cuts produced in the farm, the ancient and genuine flavors that reminded me my grandmother. Each environment we have seen was accurate in every detail, from the suite with the frescoes to the party room, the winery, everything was kept in the particular and the service was impeccable!
Poi nuovamente ad Ascoli Piceno! Per pranzo ci siamo fermati di nuovo al Caffè Meletti del quale ci eravamo innamorati e pur arrivando tardi rispetto all’orario della cucina ci hanno sfamato con vere e proprie prelibatezze! Credo che le foto parlino da sole! Then again in Ascoli Piceno! For lunch we stopped again at the Cafe Meletti of which we were in love and despite arriving later than the time the kitchen we were fed with real goodies! I think the pictures speak for themselves!
